Billy Herman was a second baseman for Chicago, Brooklyn, Pittsburgh and Boston during the 1930's and 40's. He was also a coach and manager for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Boston Red Sox teams.

Published by the Perez-Steele Art Galleries from 1980 through 2002, the Perez-Steele Hall of Fame Art Postcard Series has long been a favorite with collectors. Based on the original artwork of Dick Perez, each limited edition postcard features a water-color portrait of a Hall of Famer overlaid with an action image illustration.  The card backs feature a standard postcard layout with the Hall of Famer's year of Induction and basic career stats. Each card was printed in a limited quantity of 10,000.
